Rigid plastic plate with 1200 Grit and 400 Grit metal plates embedded on opposite sides. At about 6.25 oz., our WoodRiver® 6" x 2-3/8" stone is a handy size for toolbox, backpack or benchtop. 400 Grit side will make short work of small nicks and create the basic edge. The 1200 Grit will refine an edge in preparation for final honing or creation of a secondary bevel. This is also an excellent small stone for knives such as pocketknives and kitchen knives.

works but is not flat
Good for sharpening small items but not broad tools like planes. Over the length and width it’s not flat.
