pretty but moves
got strong fingers and tighten hard, but still find this thing moving on me pretty enough, but for the price, i did expect a more reliable locking action

Takes some time to get working
Nice little marking gauge for the price. Feels good in hand and seems to hold its measurements ok. Doesn't fall off the bench because the locking wheel is tall enough to act as a stop. One thing to note...this tool will take some work to get working effectively. The cutting wheel is extremely dull and will not even leave a mark in the wood right out of the box. You will literally spend an hour of sharpening to get it anywhere near sharp.

Excellent tool!
I couldn't possibly complain about this tool. It works as it is meant to. Looks good and feels good in the hand.

Solid tool, repeatable marks
I prefer wheel gauges to pins as easier to use and producing cleaner lines. I've had a cheaper version that wouldn't hold a setting, but this model does fine. I've never really found a use for the micro-adjust, however. I use it all the time for marking mortise and tenons, planing thickness, base of dovetails. Anything that needs to be consistent and can be marked parallel to a good edge. Also, anything where the measurement needs to be relative to another piece. Rather than try and measure accurately, transfer the measurement to a gauge or with a knife, just set the wheel gauge off of the other piece and then mark. I wish the reference face weren't completely round. Just a small flat face so it wouldn't roll away so easily.

Nice Marking Gauge
Own one and have given one as a gift to a friend. We are both delighted with the product. Nice heavy feel, good craftsmanship, and performs well.

great tool, looks and feels good. wheel turns as you work it without wabble. just wish it was made in u.s. instead of china. but truthfully, it has the feel of a finely crafted swiss tool
