It’s “Putty Time” with Timbermate
Timbermate’s water-based woodfiller putty never goes bad. This is a 75 year old product that has been manufactured in Australia since 1992 and available in the U.S. since 2001. Woodcraft has been selling Timbermate’s woodfiller since 2008. It contains no acrylic or latex and is freeze-thaw stable. Woodcraft’s product development analyst, Kent Harpool calls this product, “garage stupid & idiot proof”, because it is reconstitutable by water and microwave, as well as being very easy to use.

Excellent!
I'm using it to fill in spaces on an antique inlaid box where I'm replacing the missing pieces, very easy to work with and matches the antiques ebony very well

Do not use with water base stain or poly
Warning - This product can't be used with water based stains or finishes. Even when left to dry for several days, it will still dissolve when you brush or wipe on a water based stain or finish, and you'll be left with a total mess. The directions on the container do state "accepts all stains and finishes".....this is simply NOT TRUE. I lost several days work on an important job due to the mess caused by this product. The technical support people at Timbermate could not help either. [...] will be switching to a Behlens product.

Just awesome!!!
I finish and restore guitars and Timber mate is the easiest grain filler I have ever used. Covers with 2 coats, scrapes and sands easily and the best part is whatever you scrape off after applying you can put right back in the container. Our Aussie friends have a huge hit, I won't use anything else!!
