You don't need a hammer, and it keeps you from having to have a hammer to screw in a screw. And the previous Review: When you purchased it did you not see that it was a 2 handed tool? All you have to do is put you hinge or whatever and put the point in place and since the hinge or other small part you can let go and it's not gonna fall so far that it moves the point, then with your free hand, pull the spring back and your done! Then on to what your doing, whether you screw in a screw or drill, your on your way to finishing faster than having to use a hammer. (Even though my hammer is my favorite tool... :-)

Spring Tools
Seems gimmicky at best and requires the use of both hands to activate center punch. Difficult if holding small pieces. Better action with spring loaded, downward thrust, punches. Open spring does not seem like the safest design.
