Spring tools are simple, functional tools that no woodworker should be without. They are small tools, about the size of a pencil, that utilize a heavy duty spring for power. Simply pull the spring back and let it go—no hammer or striking tool required to set nails, mark drill points, or even clean the mortise out around door hinge. Made in the USA, Spring Tools are warranted by the manufacturer for the life of the tool. This is a tool to create indentations in the surface of numerous materials, such as hinges, locks, and brackets. Just place and press beveled tip in hole, lift plunger as required, release and the center punched job is done!

    Spring Tools

Seems gimmicky at best and requires the use of both hands to activate center punch. Difficult if holding small pieces. Better action with spring loaded, downward thrust, punches. Open spring does not seem like the safest design.
