Fantastic saw
I had a 25 year old UniSaw that served me well but between a couple of close calls and very poor dust collection I realized it was time to upgrade. The saw was packaged really well and the manual as everyone noted was first rate. However it certainly took me longer to assemble than others have reported. In addition I was surprised to find that I had leftover parts. Went over the instructions three different times and called customer service who was very helpful but could not explain why I had a couple of extra bolts and washers. Pretty puzzling ( I have since gone back over the instructions another couple times and I can't figure out what happened! ). But it was a good opportunity to talk to the SawStop staff who really were first rate and really believe in their product. All in all I am really happy with the saw. Cons are the extension table is a little flimsy and tough to get aligned and level. Dust collection at the saw blade is good but not as great as I would have hoped. Moving the overhead arm back away from the saw however really helps. Also I had no idea that my Freud a six-inch Dado would not work with this saw. But I cant blame them had I done more research I would have realized that. Certainly not a game changer. I would definitely recommend this saw

A Great Purchase
I use this saw for my business. I replaced a top name contractors saw with this unit. This is like night and day. The saw is a pleasure to use. Cuts true and accurately right out of the box. I thought I was going to have to spend a lot of time on alignments but after checking with my dial indicator, this saw is right on the money, out of the box. Dust collection is great. The cast iron table and extension wings are within 0.003 across the table at the throat. There are two low spots on the wings (.005+) but they are not in an area where it will make any difference. I was disappointed that this saw is not US made but the quality is definitely there. The fence is a biesesmeyer style fence but far better than the one that was on my contractor's saw. When you set this fence to where you want it and lock it in, it locks right in that place. My old fence used to move a little and I would have to keep checking it and adjusting it to make sure it was where I wanted it. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this saw. One last point that deserves mention, the industrial mobile base is great. It lifts the entire saw plus the extension table easily and moving the saw around can be done with one hand. Glad I bought that too. I would recommend this saw to anyone.

Exceptional saw and tech support.
I purchased this saw a couple of weeks ago. Set up took several hours but I expected that. I used a .0015 feeler gauge to tune it. That worked great. So far it has done all that I have asked of it without any trouble. I've ripped and cross cut 8/4 white maple with no issues. Also, I've sent a couple of emails to SawStop with questions. They called me back in a few hours instead of emailing me back and their answers were on the mark. Extremely professional group.

I'm glad I bought it
I have the 3HP Professional with the 52" table, but I have the base for the Industrial version (very smooth!). I bought it about a year ago and my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. It's not only a safe saw, it's a great saw even without the safety features. Assembly took some time, but the instructions are clear and everything fit. If they would make it in the US it would be perfect.

Perfect Saw, Perfect Staff
I read many reviews about the benefits of this saw over a 1.75hp contractor saw. All great benefits except for the cost. - Online reviews of this saw do not provide the justice of how excellent this saw is. Setup instructions are near perfect. The 52" fence makes cutting a 4x8 sheet a breeze and stress free. The 3hp motor is smooth. Dust collection surpasses imagination. - You won't believe the excellence of this saw until you use one. Whatever your perception of a 1.75hp is compared to a handsaw, a 3hp is many times more than that of a 1.75hp. - The concern about the cost disintegrated. I think about using this saw like, as a kid, I dreamed of Disneyland. - Now for Woodcraft- I almost purchased this saw from a competitor but they tried to sell me less of a saw and then add other items instead. I shouldn't have even tried other places. The Salt Lake Woodcraft staff are friendly, knowledgable and state the facts. They didn't try to sell me more or less of a product - even the six times I went in to look at the saw options. There was no pressure.

Hand Saver
I bought the saw stop at the insistence of my spouse. There was little arm twisting necessary to replace my DeWalt that was too little saw for my needs. Ouch, the price! But she said that my fingers were worth it. The SawStop has plenty of power and the internal dust collection is very good. I too did not buy the overhead system because it just was too cumbersome to change out when I went from rip to cross cut. Plus, I use sleds for most of my cross cutting. The controls are smooth and require little muscle to tilt the blade and raise or lower it. The lift system and the casters are good, but having pivoting casters on all four wheels would be better. My biggest disappointment has been the extension bed. It is laminated plywood (weak) with weak tubular legs that tend to move out of the ideal 90 degree alignment with the floor. For as much money as I forked out for the saw, I was expecting a better quality extension bed. I would still buy this saw though. P.S. once of my woodworking buddies' saw blade went between his 2rd and 3rd digits for about 3 inches before he was able to pull it back…that sold my wife on this saw.

Great Manual !!! Easy to Assemble !!!!
I have never put together a table saw before but I can tell you there CAN"T be an easier....well illustrated manual than the SawStop. The smoothness and operation of this machine affirms that I made the right choice.

Great saw, but quality is lacking.
The saw does a great job of cutting and is safe but it appears they sacrificed some of the quality the earlier saws had. The clean out access door is smaller and is now made out of plastic and doesn't fit very tight. The other two access panels are very small. Other than that the saw is great.

Very nice saw
Although I bought the Industrial version which is a little beefier and reportedly has better dust collection I suspect the Pro is quite nice too. Once setup and squared it is rock solid. I didn't buy it for the safety features but rather the solid well made construction. The dust collection works pretty good except for the blade throwing chips in your face (not using the overhead collection because I don't like stuff that gets in the way of seeing what I'm doing). But you must use a dust collector or it will completely plug in no time, then it will really throw stuff at you. I got the three horse because I had 20A outlets available. Very powerful, have never had it slow or bog down. Table is excellent, square and flat. Only nits I have is with the fence, while it is square and floats across the table it is hard to make fine adjustments, I lightly tap it one way or the other but it changes when you clamp it down. Also the fence rails are covered plywood that seem to collect moisture, if I leave it on the exposed cast-iron table I get rust under them. I coated the bottoms with poly tonight so will see how that does. So if you don't mind paying a little, ok a lot of money, I'm sure you will be very pleased. After all you only have to cry once...
