Paint Care
Attention California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington Residents:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington law requires the paint and coatings industry to develop a financially and environmentally sustainable solution to manage post-consumer architectural paint. Under the program, administered by PaintCare, the paint industry will make paint recycling more convenient by setting up hundreds of drop-off sites throughout the states where consumers can take their paint. PaintCare will also conduct outreach and education about keeping paint out of the trash , buying the right amount of paint for a project, and using up the remaining paint.
Woodcraft is required by state law to collect a paint stewardship assessment from California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington customers based on the size of the paint/coatings container. The fees are then forwarded to PaintCare and paid to the appropriate state agencies to fund the recycling programs. For more information go to www.PaintCare.org/about.php
