Extreme Garage Shop Makeover – Part 1
Continuing our woodworking adventures into Alabama, we arrive at the home of Woodcraft Magazine senior editor, Joe Hurst-Wajszczuk to cover his 20′ x 22′ interior garage space morphing into an extreme workshop makeover. The 2011 October/ November Issue #43 of Woodcraft Magazine features a special topic on this floor to ceiling, wall to wall transformation with detailed projects, providing instruction on turning any garage, basement or outside structure into a viable workshop. Joe is tasked with converting his 20′ x 20′ two-car attached garage into an organized, fully functioning, safe workshop. The “BEFORE” photo below will give you an idea of what Joe started with. If the clutter and disorganization looks similar to your work area, then perhaps this information may help you build a workshop makeover too.
Extreme Garage Shop Makeover-Part 4
In part 4, we take a look at a deluxe crosscut station, complete with a lumber rack storage area on the backside. In addition this unit features a tilt-out bin, sliding drawers, adjustable shelving, and customizable pigeon compartments. Designed by Craig Bentzley and built by Joe Hurst-Wajszczuk, this article is written by Paul Anthony and is featured in Woodcraft’s October/November Magazine, Issue #43.

After 16 years the orange plastic broke off two of the 4 wheels under my table saw.
I bought these as I thought they had a lifetime warranty but I guess they might not as I see nothing about it on the receipt or on the current website. How well. That was a long time but they were only used occasionally, maybe 3-4 times a year. -Bill

Great Casters
I have several sets of these casters on heavy shop cabinets in my woodworking shop, and have never had one problem.
-
worth the money
Casters roll over cracks with little if any deflection. Double lock feature keeps your item right where you want it.

Great Casters
Purchased many of these for work and home. Made many roll around carts for bench top tools in my small workshop. Casters are strong easy to steer and locking mech is easy to operate. I've compared many casters, these were the best I have been able to find and at a good price.

Far Superior to Alternatives
I've used various sizes of these casters and have been extremely happy with all of them. The double locking braking works very well, is easy to engage and disengage, and works great for stable workshop platforms and cabinets. The tires are very strong and supportive of heavy tools, but have the width and give to easily ride around uneven or dirty floors. I find the 4 inch and 5 inch casters best for bumpy floors with heavy tools & carts. Anything less than these casters, no matter how inexpensive, is a false economy. I've been gradually replacing all my older casters with these. Buy these!

nice casters
built a couple of storage / work benches that primarily remain in front of windows. butcher block top heights match another movable work bench
-
Solid, not apt to develop flat spots.
I plan to use them for a portable book wagon; an application that needs wheels that stay round.

Excellent product
Excellent product that was even better when on sale.

outstanding product
locks great

Top-quality casters
Make sure to allow enough room. The wheel is 4 inches in diameter. A 4" caster actually raises the height of the table/cart/etc about 5-1/8" above the floor.

great product for the price
I used this product on my heavy moulding planer and it does the job very well.

One of the best Casters I have used!
The brakes work very well. I used these castors on a rolling cart project which holds six water cooler bottles (about 300 lbs). Even when parked on a hill in the winter the brakes hold.[...]

Probably the Best caster on the market
I bought these casters because I wanted the best for a work bench I built that covers my table saw then doubles as an an out feed table. When I am not using my table saw it covers my saw and becomes a good work table and takes up the same space as my table saw. These casters make it easy to move the bench and also lock the bench in place so it doesn't move.

Rolling Smoothly
Put the casters on the table/bench that nests my new Big Green Egg. Together they weigh close to 200lbs and it rolls quite smoothly.
-
Great Caster
I used this caster on a mobile miter saw station and they support the weight with ease. The 4" wheels allow the station to move around my shop with ease. Great value for the price and very well made.

Wheelie Great
After buying cheap casters for years, I first bought these for a roll-around work table I built for my shop. They roll around my basement shop easily & smoothly. Liked them so much, I ordered these for mobile bases for some of my machines. Well worth the money.

Very good casters over several years.
We have used this caster on shop carts and moving dollies for several years now and they have been very good. The 4" wheel is large enough to not be overly affected by bumps, threseholds, etc. The dual locking device works exceptionally well and the tire compound is floor-friendly when we have to take a dollie into a customer's home (although we do wipe the wheels off before doing so). Sometimes it's hard to justify spending this much money (we have lots of carts and several moving dollies), but you get what you pay for. I believe that these are made off-shore, but the quality appears to be first rate.
-
Excellent quality
These casters are really well made and better quality than I could find locally at home improvement stores. I put them under some rolling cabinets in my shop and I needed both the swivel and wheel to lock. I expect decades of good service from them.

I will buy more of these for my woodshop
Great for rolling cabinets in my shop.

Nice wheels!
We use the locking casters on all the workstations in the shop. The double lock prevents the "shimmy" that happens with non-locking swivel casters. Plus, the polyurethane doesn't flat-spot like rubber wheels, and they can handle something like 300lbs apiece! Hopefully your workstation doesn't weigh 1200lbs! Overall, great product
