Continuing our woodworking adventures into Alabama, we arrive at the home of Woodcraft Magazine senior editor, Joe Hurst-Wajszczuk to cover his 20′ x 22′ interior garage space morphing into an extreme workshop makeover. The 2011 October/ November Issue #43 of Woodcraft Magazine features a special topic on this floor to ceiling, wall to wall transformation with detailed projects, providing instruction on turning any garage, basement or outside structure into a viable workshop. Joe is tasked with converting his 20′ x 20′ two-car attached garage into an organized, fully functioning, safe workshop. Great Casters

I was too cheap to buy the factory casters for my Oneway 1224. These worked great, only downside is you have to re-tap the threads of the feet from the funky metric sides to 1/2"-20. This only took a few mins. Even if you have to go to the hardware store to buy a 1/2 - 20 tap, it is cheaper than the factory wheels and likely they are better quality. You certainly will have more future choices with this thread size.

    Great wheels

I have bought several of the wheels from WC and the other woodworking store. I've found that the quality of these for surpass the big box store options. Maybe some from Tacoma screw are on par but you'd be hard pressed to find a better wheel. I've used these (8) to create a mobile base for my cabinet saw (600Lbs) and just bought 4 more for my base that I'm building for my new PM1500. I like these wheels because they are well built and they lock the swivel and the wheel roll and are very smooth. I will be putting all of my larger tools on these (of varying size based on weight reqs)even though some tools (PM 209HH) comes with wheels built in they don't allow you to pivot the tool in its own space. Same with the common mobile bases offered by all the manufactures. Ya, they can be a little spendy if you're comparing them to the cheapest wheels you can find, but the quality is there and you only have to buy them once. Imagine trying to lift your heavy tool to replace the cheap caster that broke. They often go on sale if $ is a blocker so just wait and buy a bunch. You'll be thankful you got these.

    Have purchases several of these.

I have used these casters for many custom mobile machine bases and moving dollies. I was sick of junk casters and these were a major step up for reasonable money.

    Great Wheels for the price!

Put wheels on an old 12" Bellsaw Thickness Planer with an older 5 hp motor. Both weighing approx 250 pounds. Rolls with ease and locks in place. Great wheels, will buy more as I see the need. I will not waste my time on big box wheels any more.

    Great Casters

I replaced the factory made casters on my 20 year old [...] Craftman Radial Arm Saw. The old factory casters never worked well. They struggled under the weight of the saw. These new casters easily mounted in the holes for the leveling pads and now the saw rolls around my garage easily. I find that I am using this tool more often now because it is so easy to roll it out of the corner. I wish I had made this change years ago. Great upgrade to my Radial Arm Saw!

    Tires are a potential defect

I purchased a set from Woodcraft about 2 years ago for my router table. I pull the table out about 3 feet for use each time. Within one year of purchase the polyurethane tire on one wheel broke off from the wheel and 6 months later two more broke (the 4th caster has cracks in it). The table is well within the load limits of the casters and it is on smooth concrete. I am about to replace them but will avoid this type of wheel+tire.

    Best Casters You'll Find

At first these seem a bit pricey, unless you can score them on sale, but after trying them you won't be dissapointed. I bought my first set to try with my table saw, then immediately went back and bought sets for the rest of my tools and work bench. My shop space is limited so I like everything to be mobile. These roll and pivot super smooth, lock securely, and don't flat spot from staying in one place for extended periods in a hot garage. Excellent product!

    Works great

I use these wheels to make my wood lathe movable. They lock well to stabilize the lathe and roll smoothly over my concrete floor. I used swivels on all four legs to allow easy steering through my shop from storage to work area. Altogether a good product.

    Great Wheels

I used these to build a roll around stand for my Jet oscillating spindle sander. They are excellent quality.

Very nice for my radial arm saw

Very nice sure locking system, smooth rolling and swivel action. Lock & unlock quick without heavy toe/foot strain. High quality, well worth the cost!

    Excellent Casters

Very high-quality caster, bearings, wheel material, and locking mechanism all top notch. Sale price tripped my switch.

    heavy duty and smooth

I mounted these on my table saw and it remains just as rigid as when it was sitting on the concrete floor. The wheels are large enough that I can roll the saw into my bumpy and cracked driveway without any problems. They are on the high end of the price scale but once you mount and use them you won't have regrets.

I bought another set of 4 after these

I can move my Jet lathe around the shop with one hand now and maneuver it easily

Very good for mobile items in Work shop

I have purchased one set of wheels from another store, but I have eight (8) set of yours, would never buy another set from other company.
